Dry Screening of Iron Ore
Iron ore is one of the most mined commodities worldwide
in terms of volume. Many iron ore producers are explor-
ing different technology and flowsheet to lower their energy
consumptions and operational cost. A large global iron ore
producer is testing a new flowsheet, where is required to
screen out the plus 2 mm of the material with dry screening
(classification) to lower the operating cost on the following
sizing, beneficiation, and dewatering. However, the high
screening efficiency was also required to obtain the clean
undersize with less than 10% of +2 mm material and also
getting satisfactory undersize weight recovery. In addition
to the above requirements, moisture in the hematinic ore
is a big challenge. The speculated range of feed moisture
