seen, and there is a slight improvement in equilibrium S
recovery (Figure 17). This ultimately demonstrates that
the traditional xanthates and dithiophosphates (even at
high dosages) lack affinity for certain PGMs, and thus the
addition of BCBDTC as a secondary collector serves as a
robust solution to address such ores with wide mineralogi-
cal diversity.
CONCLUSIONS
Fundamental and applied studies were conducted to assess
the interactions of BCBDTC with sulfide minerals and
precious metals. Sessile drop water contact angle measure-
ments showed that the degree of hydrophobicity imparted
by these ligands on various substrates is strongly dependent
on surface heterogeneity, and thus the practice of reporting
single contact angles is inadequate. CV demonstrated that
