Results from the alkaline leaching process indicated
that the recovery of precious metals was higher in the reac-
tion with oxygen gas, particularly for Au and Pt, which with
H2O2 only achieved 84% and 72% recovery, respectively.
Additionally, the removal of Se and Te was more effective
(8% and 10% more, respectively) when oxygen gas was
employed as the oxidizing agent. Another factor to consider
is the formation of foam during the reaction with H2O2,
possibly due to its decomposition (Pędziwiatr et al., 2018).
