Worksflow
The general workflow for creating an EPD involves sev-
eral steps. This includes selecting an appropriate Program
Operator, aligning the work with the correct PCR and GPI,
collecting data representing a 12-month period on con-
sumables and production, conducting an LCA, producing
an LCA and EPD documentation and finally sending that
for third-party verification. Collecting the data, conducting
the LCA and summarizing all the work in the two reports
is a time-consuming task and should be performed by a
trained environmental specialist. With an industry-specific
EPD tool, steps can be automated.
