XXXI International Mineral Processing Congress 2024 Proceedings/Washington, DC/Sep 29–Oct 3 807
on sustainability aligns seamlessly with Sweden’s dedication
to responsible resource extraction and utilization.
Sustainable Mineral Extraction
Engineering Rock technology
Arctic Mineral Resources
Geoscience for Exploration
Geoscience Resources
Applied environmental geochemistry
Road and water construction, soil and rock construc-
tion, masts
sustainable process and chemical engineering
Natural Resources Technology
SSM’s master’s programs provide theoretical depth and
encourage research and critical thinking. The dynamic
mining field demands innovative solutions, and the mas-
ter’s programs at SSM ensure that students are equipped
with the latest knowledge and skills required to address
industry challenges. There is a strong link between industry
and SSM and students will have several opportunities to
visit sites, and have internships.
PHD: PUSHING BOUNDARIES AND
LOWER TRL LEVELS
For those seeking to make profound contributions to the
mining field, pursuing a Ph.D. at SSM offers the oppor-
tunity to push the boundaries of knowledge. The inter-
disciplinary nature of Ph.D. research at SSM integrates
seamlessly with the lower TRL (Technology Readiness
Level) investigations conducted at the Centre of Advanced
Mining and Metallurgy (CAMM) and Natural Resources
for Sustainability Transitions (SUN). Dedicated to fun-
damental investigations, these centers contribute valuable
insights that form the bedrock for further advancements in
the mining value chain (Figure 3).
