The above indicates no appreciable capacity loss
through consecutive loading cycles. Further, Table 5 dem-
onstrates the selectivity of the IX resin, with only minor
co-removal of cyanate and nitrate. The cyanate did show a
substantial reduction in load between cycles 1 and 5, which
indicates that it is not being removed during regenerant,
and will reach an equilibrium and no longer load, or load
to a lesser extent.
Electro-Oxidation Test Results
The regenerant from the IX testwork was combined into a
single composite, and tested in the laboratory bench scale
electrocell, with the conditions shown in Table 6.
Figure 11 shows the complete oxidation of thiocyanate
(to below detection limits, 10 mg/L), with the associated
increase in cyanide (end point of 250 mg/L CN). Both of
these followed linear trends, matching predictions based
