section of a 25 × 25 × 25m block. The blast hole sample
represents ~3,240 Tons of material, roughly 16 truck loads.
Despite the challenges associated with time alignment
between the mining, truck haulage, CB Omni analysis,
residence time in the coarse ore stockpile and subsequent
on-stream analysis, the results show good alignment
between the CB Omni analysis and existing plant data.
This approach could be used at most plants as the same
data sources are typically available.
With this validation step completed, the Red Chris
project team was able to gain trust and use this real time
analysis to better understand the variability of their mine
to mill operations and look for opportunities to exploit this
real time data. The CB Omni installed at Red Chris was
configured to output analysis results on a minute-by-minute
