The stiffness calculation provides a circumferential pro-
file of the radial stiffness of the motor under the action of
the electromagnetic force. The radial stiffness is a crucial
parameter to ensure the air gap remains in the pre-defined
range, even when the mill and poles are not fully aligned
with the stator. In this case the electromagnetic force is
not perfectly circular anymore and leads to an unbalanced
magnetic pull (UMP) between the stator and rotor. This
