Anglo American Los Bronces/Confluencia—87,000 tpd
Copper-Molydenum Concentrator, Chile
Los Bronces/Confluencia is a copper-molybdenum that
entered in operation in 2012. The operation is in the Andes
Mountain near the city of Santiago, at around 4,000 meters
above sea level. The plant produces ground ore with copper
and molybdenum content that is transported via a 56 km
pipeline to Las Tortolas flotation plant at a lower elevation,
where both copper and molybdenum concentrates are pro-
duced. The upstream Confluencia plant design features an
SABC circuit. The SAG mill with oversize is treated by a
pebble crushing circuit, with the product can be returned to
the SAG feed or advanced to Ball mill feed. The undersize
of the SAG product goes to two cyclones-Ball mill lines.
The cyclone overflow is passed to a thickening circuit before
passing by gravity to the Confluencia plant at a much lower
elevation.
Collahuasi—170,000 tpd Copper–Molybdenum
Concentrator, Chile
Collahuasi processes copper (both oxides and sulfides) and
molybdenum. Collahuasi is located 185 km southeast of
the city of Iquique, between 4,000 and 4,800 meters above
sea level, in Chile. The plant produces a copper concentrate
that transported by pipeline to the port site named Patache.
The port of Patache is located 70 km to the south
