about 3.5 – 4.5. In the case of Co cementation, the mag-
netic fraction collected was observed to be lower than that
of Ni for similar conditions. The final recovery efficiency
of FeS2 was 73.17 wt. %with 33.06 wt. %of FeS2 grade
after 6 h with Co cementation. In the previous studies,
the Ni deposition by the reductant was generally easy in
both acidic and alkaline conditions, while the deposition
of Co was troublesome in the acidic condition compared to
the alkaline solution (Djokic, 2010 Brenner and Riddell,
1947).
The presence of Co or Ni deposition on the obtained
coated FeS2 was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD,
BTXII, OLYMPUS, Pty Ltd.). Figure 3 shows the XRD
analysis results of magnetic and non-magnetic fractions,
respectively. The metal formation of Co (c peak) and Ni
(n peak) was detected from the XRD results. The results
