depressant, and Sasfroth200 as frother. It should further be
noted that the feed mass of solids fluctuated considerably
between successive samples of the same stream, mainly due
to the differences in the SG of the hot samples that were
collected from the plant at different stages. In each case the
relevant volume of reagent to achieve the target dosage was
based on the SG of the respective streams. The constant
and relatively high dosage of reagents in the Denver cell
was decided upon such as to ensure that none of them are
depleted and thereby confirming that the observed results
are due to the effects of the preconditioning through the
Mach rather than any other side-effects. Further note that
the Rougher feed samples were taken at a point in the
circuit prior to conditioning and thus relied only on the
