The optimal parameter settings for the scheelite-calcite
selectivity index for the aluminate-modified colloidal sil-
ica with a specific surface area of 1100 m2/g are given in
Table 6.
Pilot Scale
Tables 7 and 8 show the process parameter settings for the
full and simplified simplex, where for the full simplex the
pH was varied between 8 and 10, the Quebracho dosage
between 0 g/t and 65 g/t, the collector dosage between
40 g/t and 150 g/t, the froth dosage between 15 g/t and
80 g/t and the CS dosage between 0 g/t and 500 g/t.
For the simplified simplex the start simplex is then com-
posed from 4 components. The already assumed optimized
parameters in rougher and cleaner stage are pH, collector
dosage are frother dosage and were varied very close to the
assumed optimum found at batch scale. pH was varied
between 9 and 10, the collector dosage between 90 g/t and
100 g/tand the frother dosage between 25 g/t and 40 g/t.
The other two parameter of interests CS dosage in
rougher and cleaner stages and quebracho dosage are varied
in a wider range. CS dosage was varied between 250 and
500 g/t and quebracho dosage between 0 g/t and 30 g/t.
The 2D density plots in Figure 7 show the convergence
zones of the process parameters pH, collector dosage and
frother dosage after 4 iterations where the simplified sim-
plex has already converged. From the scatter plots it can be
seen that the simplexes of the three parameters converge
