The Program Organizing Committee has worked hard to develop an exciting and engaging program for the upcoming
Congress, including the following components:
• A high quality technical program, comprising 420 peer-reviewed technical papers organized according to the follow-
ing highly relevant mineral processing topics:
– Comminution
– Physical Separations
– Flotation
– Dry Processing
– Extractive Metallurgy
– Process Plant Design
– Energy Minerals
– Strategic Minerals
– Human Capital
– Water Management
– Innovation in Mineral Processing
– Geometallurgy &Process Mineralogy
– Tailings
– Process Control, Modeling and Simulation
• A plenary session on opening day aligned with the Congress theme
• 14 keynote presentations by highly respected representatives of industry and academia
• 420 technical presentations delivered across nine (9) parallel streams
• Published (electronic delivery) proceedings available to all registrants
• Poster session in the Exhibit Hall area
• A mineral processing-focused exhibits area
• Four optional short courses on Sunday September 29th covering topics related to Mineral &Metallurgical Processing
Fundamentals, Geometallurgy, Innovations in Gold Processing, and Battery Materials
• A field trip to the innovative Luck Stone Quarry and Aggregate Processing facilities in nearby Virginia on Friday
October 5th
The XXXI IMPC was held at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor, MD, adjacent to
Washington DC. This is an exceptional venue offering palatial conferencing facilities, restaurants, café’s, and networking
locations in a stunning waterfront setting. In addition to the technical program, the Congress incorporated a number
of social events including a welcome reception on Monday, September 30th, a Cultural Evening celebration on Tuesday
October 1st and an Awards Banquet on Wednesday October 2nd. The Cultural Evening featured tastes and sounds from
around the USA. The Awards Banquet introduced the recipients of the 2024 IMPC Lifetime Achievement Award and the
Distinguished Service Award, as well as recognizing the award recipients from the 2020/2021 IMPC in South Africa that
was impacted by the COVID pandemic.
The Program Organizing Committee would like to thank all of the staff at SME who have been engaged in deliver-
ing a high quality Congress, as well as all of the technical focus area leads, session chairs and co-chair, and the many other
volunteers who have provided paper peer-reviews—without exception they have done a wonderful job and their efforts are
appreciated. Finally, the Committee would like to thank International Mineral Processing Council for the opportunity to
host the XXXI IMtvPC.
