speciation modeling before ion transport modeling
improves the rejection rates obtained
solutions for which the Donnan effect needs to be
considered benefit more from speciation: this not
only provides information on the size of all the
molecules present in solution, but also on their
valence, data that are essential to account for this
phenomenon.
Considering the kinetic of the reaction taking place inside
the membrane could allow to model the evolution of the
solution speciation at every step of the separation.
